ALEJANDRA BIOLATTO, Fourth Grade Teacher
|
I am a fully credentialed teacher, and
this is my third year teaching. I
graduated from California State University, Northridge in 2002 with a Bachelor’s
of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in the Visual Arts. In 2005 I earned a Multiple
Subject-Preliminary Credential and am currently working on my clear credential
through the district’s BTSA (Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment) Program.
I have always loved working with
children. While earning my degree I
worked for the City of Burbank Park and Recreation Department as a Senior
Recreation Leader in the Cultural Arts section.
During my tenure with the City of Burbank, I taught various art classes for
children and supervised contract art instructors.

I
believe that children must have ownership of their learning. I believe this ownership comes from a network
formed by the classroom teacher, the parents and the school. When these three components are in place
students feel safe and higher level learning can begin. This is the kind of classroom I strive to
create every year, a place where students can demonstrate their knowledge in
the modality in which they are most comfortable.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, and making collages. I
am very excited to join a school community where parental support and teacher
collaboration are evident.
