REBECCA BURR, Second Grade Teacher
|
Mrs. Rebecca Burr is a fully credentialed, experienced
teacher who enjoys teaching second grade.
She attended CaliforniaStateUniversity, Northridge, majoring in
Art and with a minor in English. In
1973, she graduated with a B.A. Degree, and a California State Elementary
Credential (K-9).Rebecca earned the
multi-cultural CLAD certificate through LAUSD in 1999. Her continuing education includes class work
through UCLA extension such as the Lexile Reading training.
A California
native, married thirty years, Rebecca enjoys gardening, nature walks and
spending time with her family. Other
interests include sketching, journal writing and playing the piano. |

Rebecca has taught kindergarten, second and third grades
full time for the past 21 years. She has
acted as the G.A.T.E. Coordinator, and has taught gifted and talented children
at the third grade level. She has served
as the lead teacher for the Student Leadership Team for top performing students
(grade 3-5), working on such special projects as the LAX Food
Pantry Food Drive each year. Rebecca has also headed up the
African-American History Program. She
has been actively involved with the Orchid Science Project, as well. Last year, she photographed our Kirk Douglas
Playground Dedication. This past summer,
she helped to complete our beautiful school murals. Most of all, she enjoys creating projects
with her students across the curriculum.
When asked what school she considers to be the best for teaching and
learning environments among those in which she has taught, she will tell you,
