CATHLEEN LOESER, Third Grade Teacher
Cathleen Loeser has been teaching second and third grade at Walgrove Elementary School for the past nine years. She was raised and educated in Newport Beach where her father was a professor and her mother a high school teacher.

After graduation from UCLA, Cathleen earned her Lifetime teaching credential from Pepperdine and Mount St. Mary. She is a bilingual teacher and earned her Spanish credential at CIDOC in Cuernavaca and her Language Development Specialist credential from LAUSD in 1992.

Throughout her career Cathleen has participated in many professional development opportunities. Recently she attended The Advanced Third Grade Professional Development Reading Institute, AB466 - A mathematics institute, and the ELD Third Grade Practicum. In addition, she has completed LUCI Math and Target Science.


Cathleen lives in Culver City where she owns a duplex. She enjoys singing in the Palisades choir with a fellow teacher and traveling; most recently she went to New Zealand and Costa Rica.

Cathleen greatly enjoys teaching at Walgrove where she feels the learning community is both supportive and challenging within a rich variety of teacher experience.
