I went to school in LAUSD, and graduated from Narbonne High School in 1986. Later, I attended and graduated from UC San Diego with a double major in Art and Psychology. Afterwards, I received a teaching credential from SDSU, graduating from their student teaching program in 1994.
I have been a teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District since 1994, and I have been at Walgrove Elementary since 1997. I have enjoyed teaching various grade levels (three years teaching kindergarten, seven years at grade two, three years at grade three, and four years at grade five).
Walgrove is a wonderful school, and I feel lucky to be able to work here. Working with the minds of the young keeps my mind fresh. There are always challenges, and rarely a dull moment. I enjoy growing and learning, and hope to encourage that in my students.
Outside of school, I spend a lot of time with my cats. I make quilts (often with the cats prominently featured). I have run about ten marathons. I have traveled to Mexico, Costa Rica, Italy, and Malta. In summer of 2009, I went on an ocean swimming adventure in Greece. I enjoy taking classes at various colleges for fun and interest.
