HAPPENINGS AND HELP WANTEDS FOR WEEK OF: FEBRUARY 14-18, 2011

Artwork for Education (AFE) Fundraiser I will be collecting the labeled artwork Week of February 14-18: FRIENDS OF WALGROVE (FOW) ANNUAL FUND WEEK We have two goals for this week: firstly, to bring the total participation in the annual fund above 50% of school families.  A donation of any amount will allow us to count your family as participants in helping to support our school.  Secondly, we are setting a goal of $25,000 in order to get the annual fund where it needs to be to meet our payroll obligations.  This means we need to raise that much to keep all our wonderful teachers' and library aides at the current level.  Please, if you haven't yet, stop at the tables outside school this week and drop off your pledge card!  If we succeed in reaching our participation goal of 50%, we will hold a "Wacky Wednesday" celebration for the kids during the first week of March.  Also, if you are able to help staff the  tables before or after school, please e-mail Anne Tierney (amtierney2004@yahoo.com).  She'd love to hear from you!  Thank you!  Brooke Wirtschafter (brookewirt@yahoo.com)

Tuesday, February 15:  Tuesday Early Dismissal.  School dismisses at 1:30pm.

Wednesday, February 16: Auction meeting. 7:30pm.  Please join us at Amy Sawyer's house at 7:30pm.  We will also walk over to Laura's...where the auction will be held.  Hope you can make it let Michelle Dean know if anyone else would like to be involved.

Friday, February 18: Educational Vision Task Force (EVTF) meeting, 2:45pm-4:00pm, Library.  We will be focusing on: Advanced Learning and Intervention.  Please come prepared by re-reading that section and reviewing the recommendations.  All are welcome.  Please forward to anyone who might be interested in attending.  We are working on providing childcare.  Please let us know if you are interested: $3.00 per child.  Thank you!  Amy Johnson (amypersonalproducer@gmail.com)

HELP WANTED

Website Manager Needed: It is now February and we remain desperate for someone to step up and manage our website.  It is really NOT that taxing a job and simply requires someone who will keep things updated on a weekly basis -- the calendar, announcements, upcoming yearbook administration, et al.  Thus far, a handful of us have cobbled together a team (which includes your two slightly tech-challenged co-presidents -- yikes!) but we really need one person who will coordinate and be the point person.  If you are willing to serve the community this way, we would love to hear from youand are happy to answer any questions.  Many thanks, Sarah Reimers (walgrovesarah@gmail.com)

Coffee Cart Person Needed: We need someone to take over the coffee cart starting on Friday, February 18.  It is a GREATLY APPRECIATED gesture for the community at large, and people constantly express their appreciation for the effort, which has been a wonderful labor of love.  Our hope is that someone will pick up the baton and run with it.  Please contact Shari Gold if interested in continuing this Friday Assembly tradition: sharimgold@me.com
