HAPPENINGS & HELP WANTEDS FOR WEEK OF: JANUARY 23-29, 2012

Valet Drop-Off Program Volunteers Still Needed! We have succeeded in having the city change the street signs to accommodate the program, however to date I have only received interested from three parents in volunteering to run the drop-off zone in the morning. We need at least TEN volunteers to sign up for the training. Once we have enough volunteers, we will move forward on scheduling the training with school police and will receive the materials such as cones, signs and volunteer vests. Please let me know ASAP if you are interested in volunteering – or we may lose the opportunity to participate in this program through the school district. Contact: Olivia Adams, Principal (oadams@lausd.net).

DonorChoose Gifts Cards at Starbucks! The Wasserman Foundation is giving out $10 gift cards for DonorsChoose at some local Starbucks starting Monday, January 23. You can get one even if you've already used the one you got from school. Walgrove teachers have great projects posted that need our support. Get your card at Starbucks early in the week. They expect to run out within a few days.

Stop By the Bake Sale at the Talent Show! Enjoy a treat while helping the 4th grade raise funds for their field trip to Sacramento! This Friday, January 27, the 4th grade will be holding a bake sale at both performances of the talent show. All proceeds go towards the trip.
