Jan Aptaker - Third Grade Teacher

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. I did my graduate studies and earned my teaching credential at California State University, Northridge.  In February, I began my 27th year of teaching; and my first exciting year at Walgrove Avenue.

My goal this year is to help each child build on what he/she learned last year and to extend those skills. I will work very hard to be sure that all of the students in my class master grade level standards. Assignments will often show which standard we are working on. I will have the standards posted in the room so everyone can see all the different skills we will be working on throughout the year.
