Lynn has been teaching for 10 years. Since 2000, she has worked
with LAPD as the Educational Director for the Juvenile Impact
Program and in the summer of 2009 created the Booster Club Tutoring
Program. This program offers tutoring services for all LAPD
Explorers and Deputy Auxiliary Police students in Central Division
of downtown Los Angeles. This program targets at-risk, English
language learners who need academic support and
remediation. Over the past ten years, her focus has
been on bringing best practices to an inner city, at-risk student
population. In 2009, she became a founding board member of Equitas
Academy Charter school. During that time, she worked on the
original charter and served as Chair of the Academy Accountability
Committee. Equitas Academy Charter serves the diverse population of
English Language Learners in the overcrowded neighborhood of
Pico-Union district near downtown Los Angeles. Lynn received
a teaching credential and a masters degree from Pepperdine
University and has engaged in extensive professional development in
the area of differentiation.
