Ms. Sarabanda graduated from Long Beach State University with a B.A. in Piano Performance; she received her General Education Credential at Long Beach as well. She received her Special Education Credential from California State University, Northridge. She also has training in teaching music through movement. Ms. Sarabanda believes in having a compassionate classroom, and sees herself as a detective that finds out how each child's unique and different learning style can be tapped. She incorporates the arts extensively in her classroom -- movement, music, and chanting. She believes in the process of Council, a process that has been hugely helpful and significant in being a gateway that enables her to hear from each of her students. Her instruction is formed on a daily basis by observing her students and is continually inspired by their amazing ideas.
Ms. Sarabanda enjoys singing in the Brentwood Palisades Chorale, and going to concerts, museums, and plays. She loves reading and dance. Her favorite place to visit is Monterey, especially the Monterey Aquarium. She has traveled to Japan and climbed to the top of Mount Fuji in her youth!
