Friends of Walgrove

uniting children, teachers and parents

The Campus

Set on a spacious area of nearly ten acres, Walgrove has arguably the most beautiful campus on the Westside. And there’s more to come…

The Orlantha Ambrose Kindergarten Yard

The enclosed, landscaped Kindergarten Yard with its exciting play structure is open to the public after school and on weekends, and has become a popular hub where neighborhood families can play and network. The play-yard is dedicated to the memory of Orlantha Ambrose, a devoted and inspirational music teacher who was killed in the tragic Sri Lankan tsunami in December 2004.

Jay’s Garden

Walgrove Elementary’s center quad courtyard has been transformed into a completely renovated multi-use space designed by celebrated landscape architect, Jay Griffith. Funded in part by a prestigious city Community Beautification grant, the renovated quad reflects the lively and creative nature of the Walgrove community.
