That's a lot of EWASTE!

Hey everyone,

So I want to report that we collected over 25,000 lbs of e-waste on our January 30th event! That's a lot of electronic stuff we unloaded!

In terms of proceeds to the school, Walgrove made:

$ 60.00 for all the cartridges that were taken to Staples for… Continue

Thank you Walgrove! E-waste Event a success!

Thank you Walgrove Community!

Yesterday, we loaded and filled 2 semi trucks full of electronic waste that will be recycled. It was an unbelievable amount of stuff! Our community has a lot more space in our garages today..

We had a steady flow of drop offs all day from 9am till well past 3pm. Our last TV drop was at 5pm! We had families drop off from neighboring schools as well: Beethoven, Ocean Charter, Canyon Charter and beyond. It felt great to be providing this service… Continue

sorry to take so long to get back, we were away for the long weekend and it's taken me a bit to get it together.

last efforts was thru Ms. Dara who said there was an equity issue and it needed to be available to all at that grade level.

at my last school, we just chipped in as a class (and covered the cost for those who could not or chose not to participate) and had a teacher come once a week under the radar. with the 16 kids in our class it came to about 2.5 bucks per person per week ($50. each week). since then the instructor has made a DVD which I purchased and gave to Ms. Suzy to use in her class. it's tough with a large size class. I have another one for my kids at home and am happy to share it if you'd like to borrow for your class. it's great for rainy day schedule!

good luck and let me know how your efforts move.
